Storming The Keep
Black and white version of an old image that I created some years ago called Storming the Keep which was inspired by a trip to an old medieval keep here in the UK that was half destroyed during Charles I reign in the English civil war.
I took a few digital photographs and decided to use a section of the Keep within the image composition with the addition of the Battle Troll. The idea for the composition came to me while taking the photographs.
The ‘troll’ figure was compiled in Poser 6 then imported with props into Cinema 4D, there it was rendered twice with all added textures, the sky was created from a digital image, then the Keep was cut, cropped and composited from the digital images I had recently taken while visiting the Castle. Once the background was completed in Photoshop, It was imported back into Cinema 4D and rendered has a background with the finished ‘troll’, the image was then worked back in Photoshop, receiving additional textures and final post work tweaks before completion.
