Tower Museum Bassingbourn (Logo)
A new colourful logo design I recently put together for the Tower Museum over at Bassingbourn Barracks – to be used on the headed note paper for correspondence alongside, complimentary slips and business cards.
The Tower Museum is housed in the original airfield control tower located on one of the most famous bomber bases of the Second World War. Used by both the Royal Air Force and the 91st Bomb Group (H) of the ‘Mighty Eighth’ United States Army Air Force, the base had a long and distinguished history. The Museum has a large collection of artefacts from the period, photographs and documents on display. The first floor is dedicated to the RAF, USAAF, & British Army while the second is entirely dedicated to the USAAF 91st Bomb Group.
The base was also the wartime home of the famed B-17 ´Memphis Belle´.
Scheduled to undergo a major refurbishment in the near future, the Tower Museum will actively preserve an important piece of our social history for posterity and in doing so establish a befitting tribute to the memories of all those who once served upon the base throughout its history.
